"Disciples Making Disciples"
The Lord’s Table is a community outreach program designed to meet the needs of some members of the local population for nutritious meals and the opportunity for socialization. The Lord’s Table is housed in a specially-constructed building adjacent to the church. Evening meals are served at no cost to fifty to one hundred people each weekday. Food is obtained through the Community Connections Food Bank, local supermarkets, grants and donations.
A volunteer staff, comprised of individuals from Saint James Episcopal Church, as well as other area churches and organizations, is responsible for preparing and serving the food. They are supervised by a part-time coordinator who is funded by the church. The program is located in a specially-constructed building adjacent to the church. The church also operates a food pantry to provide groceries to needy families and individuals. Food is obtained from the food bank and donations. The pantry is located in a small two-story building behind The Lord’s Table and is open for several hours a week, staffed by church volunteers.
